Trips I've Traveled
Travel Story
Isle of Skye, Scotland
Drama at the Edge of the Highlands
Skye demands a completely different photographic approach—it thrives in moody, unpredictable weather. Rugged volcanic cliffs, deep blue lochs, and sweeping hills are constantly painted by fast-moving storms. When the clouds finally break over the dramatic rock pinnacles, the resulting contrast of harsh shadows and intense, wet landscape textures makes for an incredibly powerful, cinematic frame.
Marrakech Medina, Morocco
A Labyrinth of Light and Clay
Marrakech is a sensory explosion of color, motion, and texture. The ancient, sun-baked clay walls of the Medina change from dusty pink to deep orange as the day progresses. Inside the souks, the photography is all about catching dramatic shafts of light slicing through the slatted wooden roofs, illuminating swirling dust motes, vibrant spice cones, and the busy rush of local life.
Arashiyama, Japan
Whispers in the Bamboo Grove
Walking into the towering stalks of Arashiyama is an exercise in scale and sound. The morning sun filters through a dense canopy of brilliant green, creating dramatic vertical lines and constantly shifting light patterns. The real challenge—and reward—is waiting patiently for the crowds to clear, capturing that rare, solitary moment where the wind rustled through the grove feels entirely yours.
Unity of Italy Square (Piazza Unità d'Italia) — Trieste
Where the Alps Meet the Adriatic
Europe’s largest sea-facing square offers a complete shift in atmosphere. Here, grand Austrian-Hungarian architecture opens up directly onto the deep blue Adriatic Sea. At blue hour, when the grand palace facades light up and reflect off the polished, rain-slicked stone plaza, the entire square transforms into a glowing, theatrical stage.
The Frecciarossa Journey
Italy at 300 km/h
The ultimate transition between Italy’s historic icons and its modern pulse. Watching the ancient Roman sun fade into a beautiful, painterly motion blur of rolling Tuscan hills and rural train platforms from the window of a high-speed train captures a side of travel that static destinations can’t replicate—pure, cinematic momentum.
Vatican City & The Sistine Chapel
Masterpieces of Scale and Soul
Walking into the heart of the Vatican feels like stepping directly into a living Renaissance canvas. While the silent grandeur of the Sistine Chapel forces you to look up and absorb Michelangelo’s genius with your eyes rather than a camera, the surrounding halls—layered with marble, gold leaf, and dramatic shafts of afternoon sunlight—are a photographer’s dream.
